Don't sleep on the legitimacy of cosmetic and hair care products breh. Brands like SheaMoisture are selling for real.

I know so many women with their own natural hair products, weave companies, nails, etc. that are making more from their side hustle than their salaried job. If you wanna make money, sell and market a product to women.

Not sure if you guys updated this but I legit remember reading this thread years ago and she is featured in INC magazine (just read the article) for March. She sold her company for an "undisclosed amount" to Amazon. She is awesome!

Amazon launches Part Finder, built by technology it acquired from Partpic in 2016

That's great for her but I think her selling to Amazon just further illustrates that it's extremely difficult to break in a market and compete with these large companies/monopolies. This whole notion of start your own business and if you are dedicated you'll be successful needs to reevaluated for 2019.

Agree. They just cut a decent check and take your whole idea/company that YOU invented. It's tough though man. Take 300+ million clean and clear or continue to manage this shyt for months on end. My goal at this point is to create a startup and then sell it and use that money for my real company. I have so many ideas. Just need implement them and stop playing around
