Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
To me it's still an overpay based off the Brooklyn pick

It was no secret Isaiah was hurt so this is some bullshyt; cavs knew this already

Now they trying to squeeze more?

Or, maybe the Cavs thought his injury wasn't that bad, but after doing an examination and seeing the extent they determined he could need surgery which is a 6 month recovery for labrum tears in the hip. If they trade for him and he's hurt and diminished they are fukked.

The Cavs have the leverage after getting a closer look at him.

I can see the Celtics adding one of their crappier first round picks but I can't see a significant player getting added or a scenario where IT and Kyrie are in Boston together

IT's value to the Cavs becomes close to 0 if their docs are telling them he'll be out for the whole year.

Throwing in a crappy first round pick doesn't make the Cavs let it go.

Hard to say;

Season ended.

Everybody said the hip was fine. He'd be ready for training camp, no issues

Then IT confirmed he was okay, and has resumed workouts the a couple weeks ago

Then Stevens said they weren't out of the water yet and everything would depend on how his checkout in early September goes on a mannix podcast that I believe came put on Monday

Then he gets traded

Then Danny Ainge on a conference call right after the trade happened said Isaiah could miss some time, might not be ready for start of season, mentioned December and said this is part of why he did the trade

Nothing that has been said has indicated anything other than he might not start til December

Ainge: More tests to confirm Isaiah Thomas' hip is on track

Isaiah Thomas will undergo additional testing prior to the start of training camp, which as you might expect has elevated the concern level among Celtics Nation.

But Danny Ainge, Boston’s president of basketball operations, told CSNNE.com that the tests have more to do with re-affirming that Thomas remains on a good track health-wise, than any added concern for the two-time All-Star’s health.
Danny Ainge unplugged: Celtics GM weighs in on Isaiah Thomas-Kyrie Irving trade
When asked about the part the hip played in his decision – this after the Celtics and Thomas had considered surgery only to determine that it wasn’t necessary – Ainge stammered a bit before indicating that Thomas might not be ready for the start of the season.

“Um, I don’t – you know, it, some,” he said. “There’s going to be probably a little bit of a delay for Isaiah as he starts the season this year, but – um – I think that Isaiah should be fine and healthy as the season goes along.”

I can't figure out why he didn't get the surgery, he would have missed maybe 2-3 weeks of the season at most.
