Brooklyn is putting out a better team this year than last year, while other teams have taken steps to be worse than brooklyn this year. Brooklyn is actively trying to get better while under pick probation

I agree that they are moving in the right direction and have some nice young talent to work with but I still dont see the wins with that team which is a lot of guys who never played together before. Levert and Crabbe need breakout season too.

Wouldn't be so sure about that. Jae Crowder actually gives them a defender at that small forward position, and Kyrie vs. Isaiah (both healthy) isn't a bigger difference than that addition. Derrick Rose replacing Deron Williams, Jeff Green (presumably) taking some minutes, on paper the Cavs should be better than they were last season, even though I agree that Kyrie is a better player than Isaiah. They're still not better than the Warriors, but they're still ahead of everyone else in the league.

Smart has guarded Millsap. That's the only 4 he's done well against. Bradley was their best defender and Smart is a liability on the other end of the floor being one of the worst shooters in the league. Hayward is nowhere near the defensive player Crowder is. Morris isn't consistent from 3 either. Kyrie is best in iso situations and isn't exactly willing passer and Hayward isn't some generational offensive threat.
