hat can be perceived as violence is do to the students arguing with and fighting with themselves over siding with/against the teacher, while the teacher refuses to act and difuse the situation.

-He acted like he was going attack the teacher at the very beginning and supposedly upset she dared asked his name
-The dude acted like he was going to hit the teacher with a chair
-He grabbed the bag of M&M's and talked about how "he was going to smack her ass with a whole bag of M&M's while swinging them at her and throwing them at her.
- Demanding "she sit her ass down in her chair" while standing over her in an effort to obviously threatening her

Also the supposed kids "on her side" is just more clowning for them to have fun. I put this in the same category of folks who stand around laughing "OH MY GOD YOU SO CRAZY" "YOU'RE SO BAD" as if they're really morally outraged about the situation.


Also, I admitted that there is a level of guidance expected from teachers, especially given they have probably see kids as much as their parents. However, your expectations of teachers seem to be too high in my opinion and I think they need to be tailored depending on the individual circumstance. If these were just loud ass kids talking out in class and shyt then I would more blame the teacher. However when you have a dude who is the size of a grown ass man threatening violence against you, I'm not going to fault the teacher.

The underlying problem here is again, is this expectation that a teacher is a stand in for where a correctional or security officer would be more appropriate. I think that is where you're letting your perception overlap. An elderly old lady shouldn't have to teach a class.I don't think it says anything about her teaching ability as it does about the staffing assignment by the school. They should probably should of assigned someone who doesn't look to be a member of AARP.

In this situation, I don't think this woman taking a "stern" "demanding voice" would do shyt.

Also these type of classrooms gives insight into why no teacher worth their salt would want to shave years off their life dealing with this bullshyt.

The only fights are with him and the other students is what I mean. He doesn't hit her with the chair, but he does actually hit another girl that intervienes on the teacher's behalf (and the girl hits him also) and the teacher seems completely unconcerned with either.

I am not saying anyone is correct in the scenero, only that the teacher is supposed to be responsible.
If you are the parent of that girl, say he had hit the girl with the chair cause she is trying to step in between the guy and the teacher whille the teacher continues to do nothing...

My point is, why would I look to or expect rowdy teens to diffuse a situation? The teacher is there to difuse situations and keep the class orderly just as much as she is there to push the curiculum. At least that is my belief. Perhaps that is no longer the case or the expectation now... but if I had kids and were to put them into the care of a teacher, that teacher needs to be responsible for their safety and the safety of the class. Here she was not. Even recklessly so. And, if she is incapable of keeping that class in order she should not be in charge of it. For her own safety and everyone elses.

You are correct that she could not just take a stern voice, cause she has allowed it to deteriorate to the point that they don't trust or respect her. But that is very much a problem. In the case of a good teacher, the teacher could as you say simply change the tone of their voice and the class would settle. This lady just is in way over her head. She needs to be let go for the good of everyone involved. Thats in addition to whatever is done in punishment to the kids. I'm not absolving the kids, I'm saying the kids are not in charge. She is.

Kids acting a fool and she decided not to act out with them.

She coulda got angry and started yelling or called a Ben Fields type, but that's not really the adult way to handle this situation.

She did the right thing, let them hang themselves and went home with piece of mind.

Now those kids will receive proper consequences and will probably always be remembered as the bafoons they are. Not to mention the embarrassment their parents and family's feel.

You don't know the situation with security or this schools policy. Teachers are taught to stay calm and not stoop to the level of the child. She did that.

Again you don't know the protocol at the school. I'm sure they received whatever the proper punishment is after the fact. And obviously they didn't care that they looked like bafoons. That's why she let them tape it and incriminate themselves. But now 4 years later if they are trying to do something positive with their lives, then this video will haunt them. And you know nothing of their family. That's a pretty big assumption you are making there.

I'm just glad my wife teaches 1st graders. She teaches at a k-8 school in the middle of some projects(Polo grounds in harlem). I picked her up from school one time and saw a crowd of kids surrounding an African mom and her 3 kids bullying and cursing them out. African mom was ready to brawl out for her kids tho.
