i think hes more so arguing from the stance of.... what happens next if simply cutting the check doesn't hypothetically fix all the wrongs or closes any gaps?

they'll just be like we gave yall money, figure it out, our hands are clean now.

This is what I've said about reparations, whatever we get has to be in a way that elevates all of us. It if turns into just checks that people blow through in a year, you know the country is going to say " we made good you on your own now"

And we all know how people some are, you give them a check for $50K, they'll buy a $50K car and tax/registration time be in debt.
