Legit progressive/socialist cacs have been awfully quiet about reparations until now.

Kyle Kulinski of Secular Talk is one of biggest political commentators on YouTube. He co-founded Justice Democrats, which is a big reason certain elected officials (such as AOC) do not take corporate PAC money and support policies such as Medicare for All, Green New Deal, etc.

In summary, he acts as if all of the reparations talk lately is completely the work of rich, anti-Bernie Democrats/media members. He either ignores or is completely ignorant of all of the work done by independent Black media(despite claiming to be ALL ABOUT independent media) as well as Black academics to push reparations to the forefront. I'm guessing the former, as The Young Turks(which Kyle is apart of) covered an Inequality Town Hall with Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, Michael Moore, and Black economist and reparations supporter Darrick Hamilton. He tweeted the video last year.

Starting around 55:27, Darrick Hamilton starts talking about how broad leftist/socialist programs WILL NOT help budge the racial wealth gap. Sanders definitely did not want to discuss that AT ALL.

Near the end, Kyle goes starts to :mjpls: with his "rising tide lifts all boats" "AMERICAN descendants of slavery? But how will it work? What if you're mixed? What if you're a Black immigrant from Jamaica?" shyt.

Mike Figueredo runs the Humanist Report, which has hundreds of thousands of followers.

He largely agrees with Kyle, though he does show the clip of the reporter actually getting Kamala Harris to admit she's not going to do a damn thing for Black people. Kyle acted as if the ENTIRE media was harder on Bernie than Kamala and Warren on reparations. He also actually supports reparations, most of the white progressives in the comments section, however :mjpls:

When I was in HS back in 2011, I did a report on the Internet Research Agency, and how they create fake online momentum, to test different areas and social groups online.

Four years later the NYT did huge piece on it, including fake incidents that had actually gotten picked up my mainstream media through online sources, fake police shootings, fake BLM quotes, fake cop killings, etc.

The suspicion is there, and I’ve noted quite a few fake Black Twitter personalities, mostly involved in “sex work.”

ADOS is real, but because its so tightly tied to social media platforms, it seems a little ridiculous.

I’m in Black Twitter pretty heavy and never see it mentioned.

ados needs a speaker that can reach the “low information “hope and change, build that wall” types who can only take in 1-2 syllable words

I've noticed this. It's a perfect storm to work against ADOS.

The Corp Kamala lovers think we're Russian Bots or dusty black militants.

The Faux-gressives (had to start calling them that after they tell me blacks shouldn't get Reparations lol) think we're just Sanders hating Hillary/Kamala lovers.

I'm in the live chats on some of these progressive shows with some other ADOS reppers trying to let them know we are for real. I always hit them with the racial wealth gap report and tell them to holler at Tonetalks.

They're on the same page when it comes to discrediting the movement.

I saw a few people reppin' ADOS during the Majority Report stream. Most reactions to it ranged from :ld: to :mjpls:

I've been following Secular Talk for over a year now and when I watched Kyle's video this morning I can't say I was surprised by his reaction. He's one of those lefties that believes one of the most effective ways to beat Trump is to try and appeal to the populist sector of his voters and bring them to our side by pushing populist social policies. He thinks they only voted for Trump because he pretended to be populist whereas Hilary was a more corporate favoring politician (which she is).To support his theory he doesn't believe politics that are rooted in identity can be at the forefront of a candidate that's going against Trump or Republicans in general.

I think his theory is incorrect and most of what I've read of the exit polls say to me that a significant reason they voted for Trump would be the coded sometimes explicit racist/white supremacist rhetoric. This theory is going to fall flat on it's face and #ADOS is going to help smash it as it should. We don't need the racists to vote for us we need to activate our side and get them out to vote, reparations is a surefire way to get ADOS out there on top of being the right thing to do..

I finally see how a narrative can get out of control.

I've been following tonetalks/Yvette Carnell for three years, now. And watched this from it's infancy.

And people are really just making shyt up, as to where it started.

:dahell:

Like, this is amazing and eye-opening.

Meanwhile, you got Roland Martin scheming in Selma against Yvette and Tone.

:snoop:

2020 really is brining the political fukkery.

It's just interesting that the whole "ADOS" term just popped up out of nowhere on the internet all at the same time. Like I know the coli recycles material from social media and vice versa but I remember when the term was first started to get used on the coli , I also seen people in YouTube comments advocating for the use of it.

I don't totally agree, since some of these people voted for Obama in 2008.

A lot of people didn't realize this was a sentiment that had been brewing for a long time. The problem was no one was really out there saying it loud and unapologetically and had the right information to back it up. I think for a lot of ADOS like myself it made perfect sense once it was put in context. The issue now is you have a lot of dishonest people not really trying to understand what the context is for various reasons and slandering it.

That's part of the problem the flip flop voters for Obama who in turn voted for Trump are always overstated. Remember Hillary won the popular vote it was the electoral vote in key states where she lost and I think Republican gerrymandering played a large hand in that when they took the House and Senate in 2010.
