How does a generation all of a sudden get the wherewithal to say "enough is enough" if this has been going on for generations? It's not like anyone is teaching them another way. The family unit is being dismantled and the schools are subpar. Where is it going to come from?

A start would be the community holding these nikkas accountable for their actions. If people want to shoot kids and women in broad daylight, the entire community needs to be on that nikkas door step with straps out to let them know that the community is going for it. Physically escort them to the precinct. You do this in every case of somebody shooting or whatever and soon after, things will change.

The solutions may seem complex overall, but very simple steps can be taken to help move things forward for the better

I agree, but here's the problem with that logic. The victims were driving at the time they got shot. There may not have been any witnesses, and if there were, the people around were probably ducking their damn selves. Because they were driving, they may not have even been in their hood.

Another thing. This isn't like the old days of taking a village to raise a child. Back in the days, everyone knew each other on the block. Nowadays, you might have a family that has been there for decades, but new people move in...and you don't know them. You might suspect someone is doing dirt, but it's not like you know them by name. If you don't have proof or even a name, you have nothing.

issue aint ever gonna be solved by policing the city. this is a pure social-economical issue. Gangs should be seen as a representation of the state of social regression because gangs at the core are just a modern form of tribalism (wouldnt even say modern since gangs have been around for more than a millennia, but whatever).

to fix this you need better schools, better afterschool activities, more local role models for lack of a better turn. fighting this sort of complicated issue with oppression only breeds more violence and other such things due to gangs originally forming as a direct result to oppression in the first place

but go ahead and keep asking for the national guard to be sent in at the behest of a fukking cheeto. see where that gets us
