I agree, but let's be honest, the national guard and the feds tackling the violence in Chicago and patrolling the streets will do more harm than good. The collateral damage in this situation is from young men shooting wildly. They will be charged with a crime and sentenced. The collateral damage from the national guard will be from militarized police forces shooting at will at anybody they assume is a "criminal risk" (ie, black and male, or just black), they will lock up anybody they will assume is a "criminal risk" and won't see any jail time from the aforementioned because being involved with the federal government/armed forces gives them the impunity and privilege to evade prosecution for their wrongdoings.
THAT"S THE DIFFERENCE.
I'm saying this using a fully well-thought out rationale, it's not a good idea. It will make the problem 10 times worse.
