The TLC cover is great. It indicates how ahead of the times that 'If I was Your Girlfriend' was. The beat is very 1990s, but Prince made that shyt in 1986/1987. I give the edge to Prince because TLC sounds flat in the 2nd verse and there isn't the killer bridge.

I agree with everything besides the 2nd verse it was still dope. But you right about the beat one of the most underrated in the history of music especially that hook.

Fun fact to add a layer to this.....

Prince popped up on Chilli one day, invited her into his limo, had the driver ride around while he smashed her, and then dropped her back off at her crib and kept it moving without even a phone call afterwards.
