I think it's just that ur schtick isn't very believable nor realistic. If we had a parliamentary system, with a history of more fluid coalition building then your views would be marginally less idiotic. But we don't. One of the two major parties has had, for the last 60 years, as one of its primary organizing principles, the utter subjugation of all black people to white supremacist interests. Are there democrats who harbor anti black sentiments and who only care for our votes during election time? Absolutely. Does that describe the entire Dem party and all of its supporters? No. Do black voters have to be more aggressive in demanding tangible policies in exchange for our loyalty to the party? Yes. But you'd have to be a moron to not see that the policies espoused by the Dem party are much better for most black voters than what you'd get by sitting home and letting the GOP decide.

What leverage do blacks have over Dems other than their vote and/or support?

Because our system is literally designed for a political plurality, what comprises other political parties outright in other democratic nations are brought into the conglomerated fold of the two parties at hand. The parties aren't monoliths, they're coalitions of various parties and groups brought together through common ties and the fact that the US FPTP system is DESIGNED for a two party outcome as currently constructed. That's why Ron Paul ran as a republican and why the tea party get GOP money and why Bernie ran as a democrat when he ran for president.
