Another Draymond thread where nobody has established what a better player really is. Communication is real y'all.

Another thread where people keep repeating the same narrative of Green having to be the first option on a team.

Lets run with that idea.

"Can you imagine Melo as the defensive anchor?"
"Can you imagine Melo as the primary playmaker?"
"Can you imagine Melo as the team's best rebounder?"

If we're imagining teams where a player has to be the best everything for their team with their weaknesses fully expoed I'd rather take Draymond's scoring over Melo's shytty everything else.

Even before we get into who's the better player, we need to look at how much impact Draymond has on the game (v role v skillset) and then we can start looking at how he compares to other players. He's definitely the most difficult player to rank, and I don't know where he truly ranks myself; superstar impact without being an actual superstar. But until we establish the groundwork of his game/impact, than there's no reason for these threads to exist.

Are you stupid? The fact you got people in here saying a 5th option type guy who just expends all his energy on defense is better than Melo or anyone else who is elite. You nikkas dumb,Draymond as your first option would be the worst season in franchise history for ANY team

What does this even mean? Is the first option on a shytty team really a first option? If a player does everything else at an elite level does it even matter? Like I got no clue what point you're trying to make. Stupid ass niccas still viewing the game through the 2000's lens where anyone who got over 20 points a game is a good player regardless of anything else.

The point is that any team w Draymond as its best player...would barely qualify as an NBA team.

In today's game, scoring ability is more valuable than ever. The most ridiculed and shyt-on players on the coli are generally guys that have anemic scoring ability i.e. pgs like Rondo and Rubio, big men like Noah and Dwight. Conversely, players like Lillard and Curry are shytty defenders but are great at putting the ball in the basket and are thus looked at much more favorably, top 5 lists etc. Draymond is the only exception. He's the Rajon Rondo of power forwards, but instead he gets a pass because his teammates scores a lot and they win.

Whoever voted Draymond over Carmelo is hating....Carmelo is 2 times the player Draymond is...Draymond is only Seen as good because of his fit with the Warriors...

Trust me if the Warriors had Melo to replace Draymond they would be way better and if the Knicks had Draymond as a starter he be maybe an above average starter.

Not only would the warriors be far worse with Melo, but the Knicks would be far better. Melo brings nothing defensively, he wouldn't protect the rim the same way Green does when he has to be the center on the court, he's not great at switching onto smaller, quicker players, and most of all he's not a distributor and the Warriors have enough shooters/scorers.

Knicks are full of scorers that struggle getting each other the ball, Green would help tremendously with that.

Knicks frontcourt is disastrous, put Green at PF with Porzingis at center and suddenly you have a great defensive frontcourt that can greatly protect the rim.

"BUT BUT BUT MELO'S SCORING :mjcry:" is easily replaced with Rose/Lee/Porzingis getting more touches and Green having create those chances as he's an actual playmaker opposed to Melo's sorry ass.

Hornacek goes on and on about how shytty the Knicks defensive effort is and how little the ball moves around and those are the qualities Green brings and Melo doesn't. :lolbron:

Easily Draymond, Fat Iverson is fukking trash on defense. The Knicks would improve substantially if they Draymond at the 4 with KP playing the 5. It would allow KP to protect the rim and not have to chase stretch 4's which he has proven he is not comfortable doing on a consistent basis.

New York Knicks: Carmelo Anthony Must Lead The Defensive Turnaround

When Anthony is on the court, the Knicks allow an average of 111.6 points per 100 possessions. That’s the second-worst mark that New York has with any one player on the court, with only point guard Derrick Rose rating worse at 111.7.

When Anthony comes off the court, however, the Knicks have a team-best defensive rating of 102.4 points allowed per 100 possessions.

Draymond is a beast on defense and is a much better passer than Fat Iverson has ever come close to being

Warriors' Draymond Green brags about his defense, so how good is he?

The Warriors, on the other hand, are seven points better per 100 possessions with Green on the floor defensively, is in the 93rd percentile via Synergy, and opponents are shooting 4.7 percent worse vs. Green.

According to those stats Sasha fukking Vujavic is the best defensive player on the Knicks, :laff::laff::laff:

Because his sample size is small as shyt. Anyone that has ever done a statistics course will tell you that you need a large enough sample size to arrive at accurate statistics.
