ESPN needs to stop talking New York Sports if they think NYC has always been a Yankee town

The mets so much as go on a 10 game win streak and jump up a few places and its ALL you hear about on Local NY sports radio. It just hits different when the Mets are doing well. When the Yanks are hot Met fans fall back and let them have their shine.

But When the Mets are hot you even got Yank fans calling in all flustered that the Yanks aren't getting all the attention anymore, its like clockwork. Lol look no further than this thread. Yanks are a better run organization that has more consistent success, but that Mets buzz is just something else, it does somethin to the city.

Because the Yankees are expected to succeed so when the Mets do well it’s a different vibe.

Also, using NY sports radio is flawed a lot of those radio callers are blue collar old NY’ers on some Mike from Bayside, Sal in Howard Beach, John in Ronkokoma shyt which tends to be Mets fans.

I say this as a Yankee fan. They have always been viewed as corporate and a bit more stuffy. The Mets seemed to meet New yorkers on the ground floor of where they were at a bit more.

We’ve had a million articles about how the Yankees were scrappy and performing well with so many injuries through most of the season ... at this point we appear to be running away with the division and are trying to secure HFA . What do you want the media to talk about. ?
