Ok you're right. I apologize for saying we spend more throughout the year at Christmas. My bad. At the same time, that STILL doesn't fix the main issue. People would spend LESS at Christmas if they had better financial habits throughout the year.

Christmas is a great time to get with family and friends and spread the love.

she makes a good point. lets not act like those dollars we are withdrawing for one day wont get spent the day after anyway. "im not buying christmas gifts but im gonna spend that money at footlocker" that does the exact same thing as Christmas shopping

this is a good idea but if it doesn't include a plan for us to take that withdrawn dollar and invest it into our own equity its only half of the solution.

If not buying a bunch of stupid shyt which in turn feeds the same machine that you claim is "oppressing" you is an "unrealistic" request and too much to ask...than i guess all this police violence and systematic racism that you claim is so rife and such a hinderance to our collective progress is not really not all that big of a deal, where you can't even make a slight alteration to your life which entails something as simple as not putting money in the pockets of the same crackas that you claim hate you for things that you don't even need.

nikka a nationwide boycott effects more than local companies. Hundreds of companies are counting on revenue within that period so even if folks spent their money "days later" (buying xmas gifts in January???? ) the profit margin would already be damaged and prices would likely be slashed.

It costs nothing , involves 0 risk, doesn't demand any time or energy, and if people invest <10% of that spending power it can make a tangible difference.

But I can understand if that makes too much sense
