This is a great idea. More African countries will be able to participate thank god.
Are you a soccer fan? Do you know the sport? This is a terrible idea by FIFA because this new format will allow biscottos to happen (like in the 1982 World Cup when Austria and West Germany combined results to eliminate Algeria). One of the 3 teams in each group will have a bye in the last group round and this team will be fukked by a potential biscotto, as the other 2 teams will know what result will be needed to make both go trough.

“Biscotto” is an Italian colloquialism often employed in soccer (or other sports), used to describe a result secretly agreed upon in advance by two athletes or teams. It is practically synonymous with the French word “combine”, which can be translated in English as “trick”, “scheme” or “fiddle”. A “combine” is a close pact made to fix the result of a match before it actually takes place, usually in exchange for money (essentially, we are talking about corruption). “Biscotto” is more specific in the sense there need not be an exchange of money, because the secretly-agreed-upon result is of mutual benefit to the agreeing parties.

There has already been talk of implementing the American mindset of having every draw go straight to penalties to avoid these types of things. :mjpls:

Match fixing and corruption is rife within FIFA now. More countries involved means more people get to eat. I'll allow it.
