Team felt like there was a better chance of Fitz repeating last season

than there was of Geno or petty performing that way.

If they, the people who watch and practice and analyze these players year round and get paid big bucks to do so, had seen anything telling them Geno or petty or hack can come in and have a chance of doing what Fitz did statistically last year, Fitz would be unemployed right now.

I as a jets fan am not in any way emotionally attached to Fitz Patrick the way, say, @Roddy Right is emotionally attached to Geno Smith

According to Football Perspective.com's QB historical analysis, Fitz put in one of the worst QB performances--in terms of YPA, picks--of all time. Moreober Fitz joins a bunch of stupid gatbage QBs when it comes to bad game trends ans records in general. Geno's games don't come close to Fitz's in terms of sheer awfulness.

You are delusional in thinking Fitz is should even be on the team, let alone is as good a QB as Geno Smith. Fitz hasn't beaten a good defense for the entire time he has been here

The best thing for the Jets is to start a young guy and develop him --- not lose with Fitz.
