Kotal has a variation where he has grapple chains that can grant him buffs just like Grundy.

Kotals grabs don't grant him buffs . That's what the totems are for.... Again he doesn't play like Grundy at all/isn't similar to him in anyway other than the ONE chain grab.

I still can't tell who's the actual grappler of the game, is it sonya, Jax, or Kano? I was thinking it would be Goro but.... nope

Everyone who wants to be prepared for a real fight practices grappling these days. Mortal kombat requires high level training and can't be effective with one system of martial art

Ice aura makes him immune to chip damage, if you do the ex version then he has damage reduction. Damage reduction on a standing 4 move is from 7% down to 4.6%

Also the startup frames of the aura are 0
