To be fair, if you can't handle working 40 hours a week then you are lazy and I look down on you as a person...sorry breh.
It's not necessarily about what you can handle,but more of what you can get .
Technically most people could handle working 60 hour work weeks(it ain't slavery and it isn't torture) so should we do that too?

Aye man, listen - I hear you. I do...I really do. It's just that it personally irks me when I see a broke, lazy ass nikka talking that shorter hours/higher minimum wage bullshyt when they don't want to do the bare minimum at their job to begin with. Listen, Europe is great and all that but their work culture in general is different. Yeah, they may take their 2 hour lunches but at the same time their working hours are a lot more hectic because they actually put in work. Half the work day in the U.S. is spent bullshytting around so it kind of evens out in my eyes.
So what's stopping you from moving to Germany then, fakkit? Obviously deep down you know that it will suck.

Working less hours could also mean more people employed and wider spread of income amongst the general population. The question is will efficiency be maintained during that shift transition from one employee to the other?

The populace must be kept busy working as much as possible. Idle minds will begin to actually think!
If people weren't working 40, 50, 60 hours per week, they may begin talking and realizing they have a lot in common. May even get the idea to do things in their spare time that are typically left for people vested in those areas and thus more likely to blindly follow academia.
Imagine if people could live off working 20 hours a week? They may want to do things like research the moundbuilders personally. Go to places like Egypt and find "
