:banderas: What's beautiful about this is these are the exact type of songs youd expect him to rap over as a sample, but the ish is original and lusher.

I don't understand all the hate for 12 Reasons to Die, but at the same time I think I know why people be hating on these live instrumentation/more "musical" albums. Its people downloading/streaming poor quality mp3 versions of the albums and listening to them on their iphones through stock apple earbuds and shyt. Real music with dynamics, image, and depth to it needs to be listened to in AT LEAST CD quality through good headphones or a good system, and through a source with a quality digital to analogue converter (DAC). Most laptops/tablets/cell phones/ipods have inferior digital to analogue conversion and require and external DAC to begin with, throw a poor quality version of the recording and shytty headphones/speakers on top of that and of course "real" music will sound like shyt. Beats made with FL Studio that are overly compressed to make them loud and consist of mostly computer generated electronic synths and bass lines can still sound similar to CD quality in the abovementioned scenario and wont suffer as much.

The thing is, I know there are people who love music on here and if they were to experience quality recordings through better listening methods they would absolutely notice the difference and start appreciating albums like 12 RTD, 8 Diagrams, A Better Tomorrow, 36 seasons etc. The problem is, much like myself only like a year ago, they just don't know any better :mjlol:

Sorry for coming off as an elitist..........:shaq:

Ghost the GOAT:smugdraper:

Na, it ain't that breh.

A lot of dudes will tell you Ghost fell off and needs to sharpen his darts. They don't want Ghost over live instrumentation production, doesn't sit well with them. As Billy said above, it's not the Ghost they want.

Personally, I like what Ghost has done with his 3 latest albums, I think they are dope.

I'm sure SC2 & DoomStarks will please the non believers though.

Before cats start b!tching up again, DO understand that this album is supposed to have a nice, intimate lounge act feel. NO...it's not supposed to sound like Supreme Clientele. No...it's not supposed to sound like Ironman or Fishscale. Ghost last few albums have been collaborations/concept albums with live instrumentation. His last official SOLO, SOLO album was Wizard of Poetry and that album was dope and criminally underrated (mostly because Ghost tried to give fans some grown up music). More collabs are coming (Wu Block 2, 12 Reasons 2, possibly Doom Starks...). Just enjoy these projects and appreciate them for what they are, until his REAL solo drops (Supreme Clientele 2). What Ghost is going to do in 2015 is EPIC. Sit back and enjoy greatness and stop crying.

Real talk even thio he has slipped from the impossibly high perch he set himself uyou are correct its becoming more and more obvious that GFK is a true artist......one of the few guys i would point to if someone is trying to understand why rap is art.....
I didnt like twelve reason to die at all until i heard brown tape and was blown away........

i actually thought 36 season was a contender for 2014 AOTY.

and now this.........only thing that i want more that sc2 would be that doom album but no worries GFK has more than fed us...................anyone know if he playing any small clubs in the NY region?

Ghost is showing that he's easily one of the best handful of MC's to ever do it. It's a shame that some people aren't acknowledging the unbelievable job he's been doing in the past couple years. He's not going to sell but I'm gonna go ahead and say that Ghost will have the most impressive year in hip hop from strictly a music standpoint. Watch this legend cook.

I heard this album, although I couldn't really pay great attention to it my initial thoughts were very much 12 reasons to die ..... live instrumentation driven, old school, cinematic themed. It sounded slow paced. Ghost sounded consistent with his previous 2 albums.

I can already imagine the coli backlash from the feedback of 12 reasons and 36 seasons on here.

Hopefully I'll get the opportunity to listen to it later where I can pay more attention.

Sounds like a video will drop at some point today.
You've heard the full album? Dawg, there's backlash for his last 2 albums because, lyrically, he isn't on point. However, from what I've heard from these few tracks that have leaked, his verses sound on point--and so does his energy.

Yeah I've heard the album. Got a second listen over the weekend. album sounded dope.

food and street knowledge were fire, Ghost ain't miss a step:wow:

Three tracks are instrumentals, nuggets of wisdom was one verse, tones rap was ghost on some vicious pimp shyt and mind playing tricks sounds like it could have been on 12 reasons.

another solid addition to one of the best discographies in the game
