I've lowered my expectations for this season but I still think this team can compete with any team in the NFL but too much will be dependent on scoring TDs which is an issue that hasn't been answered from what we've seen so far along with the same issues the team has had since Mike Smith became coach.

Just like the team, I think we as fans are gonna have to take it game by game with the focus on beating the Saints week 1 by any means.

Win that game and you set the table going forward.

just be aware that if you thought mike smith was conservative, jimmy harbs is extremely conservative on offense.
imo your squad is one of the worst fits for him. he likes to run the ball a ton and run a lot of 2TE/22 personnel sets and play physical + mistake-free. that air it out, uptempo mantra aint his forte.

The San Fran D isn't as stout as it once was(still very good)based off the injuries

I think he will have no choice but let Kaep make some plays..

He will just adjust to the personnel

It's a lotta realism in here. We know our personnel and what we've seen. I'm always optimistic, but I'm even more realistic. I'll still be tuned into every game

Baker being done is a blessing. He took his season ending injury before the season so we can at least try and find a replacement by trade, waiver wire, or on the roster. I was just worried he would get injured week 4.

Kroy Biermann has to go! Even the white fans are now realizing he got a skin tone pass. Dude is bad at everything except being white.

I hate to say it but im already thinking about the offseason. We need another big time offensive lineman and two pass rushers.

The team needs to correct some issues (the pass rush in particular) and gain a sense of urgency. A win against N.O. will be the shot in the arm that we need. We good brehs.

We signed a tackle, Pat McQuistan, no not the one from the Seahawks, that's his twin. 6'6" 315, he's bounced around the league since 2009

I'm not well informed on FA offensive tackles, but commenters on the Falcoholic mentioned going after David Stewart from the Titans, he was all-pro in 2008

FLOWERY BRANCH —

The Falcons will not break with tradition and play their starters at least a half during Saturday’s exhibition game against the Titans.

The third game of the preseason is typically the game where the starting units see the most game action. Head coach Mike Smith said the team will do some game planning, as it would in a regular-season game, this week. However, he indicated that the Falcons would not show their entire hand during the exhibition.

“We are going to want to take the starters through the first half of the game,” Smith said. “We’ll make a determination by the number of snaps (they play) whether they will come back out and play in the second half for a series. That is the way we’ve handled it in years past.”
