More first team reps for devonta freeman:lupe:

He was actually just on 92.9 The Game when you quoted this. Him & Antone Smith are our top 2 RBs right now so ehh...

BTW, I'm not sure I want Hester on the field as a WR too often, I want him fresh in his PR/KR role

Steven Jackson is Mr. Glass.... they are better off pulling Michael Turner off the couch.

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. -- Atlanta Falconsdefensive tackle Peria Jerry, a former first-round pick, has decided to retire, the team announced Thursday.

i

JerryJerry entered training camp on the roster bubble as the Falcons added more bodies up front in defensive end Tyson Jackson and nose tacklePaul Soliai to go with rookieRa'Shede Hageman.

Jerry, who turns 30 on Aug. 23, was the 24th overall pick in 2009 out of Mississippi. He battled injuries throughout his five seasons with the Falcons.

The team signed him to a one-year contract this offseason at a low-risk price of $890,000. His base salary would have been $730,000.

He's the second player this year to abruptly retire, as running back Jason Snelling left the team in March.

Another Dimitroff bust :snoop:

My original post said that, but when I looked back he hasn't drafted that bad. Now if we go back to the McKay days (Anderson, Jimmy Williams,Robinson, Houston) that's when it starts to get ugly. FA signings have mostly been bad under Dimitroff

It's mostly due to the fact that we've been at the back of the draft every year since Matt's been here. We couldn't get any other blue chippers outside of Julio. Still, you'd like to get more out of your first rounders though.

FLOWERY BRANCH —

Falcons reserve offensive tackle Terren Jones suffered a concussion and is the league’s concussion protocol program and defensive tackle Ra’Shede Hageman suffered an undisclosed hand injury, Falcons coach Mike Smith said on Monday.

Jones was taken off the field on a stretcher to an awaiting ambulance on Sunday. He was apparently kicked in the head while on the ground. Hageman was hurt in a scuffle with center Joe Hawley.

“He was taken off the field, but he was returned to the facility early evening and is resting today,” Smith said. “I thought that our medical people did a wonderful job in terms of the situation yesterday with getting him off the field and to the Northeast Georgia Medical Center. He returned within a couple of hours and was back in here last night.”

Hageman told others he suffered a hairline wrist fracture before getting an x-ray. The x-ray revealed that he didn’t have a fracture, but a bone bruise.

“Hageman does not have a fractured hand,” Smith said. “You will see that he will be a full participate in practice today. There was no fracture whatsoever in his hand.”

Smith would not go into much detail about the bruise. Hageman appeared to have a small pad on his right hand during the team’s morning walk through.

“The extent of his injury is that he’s going to be practicing today as a full participate,” Smith said. “The test that we did, the x-ray that was taken showed that there was no fracture.”

Also, Jones joins Falcons safety Dwight Lowery and linebacker Pat Angerer in the league’s concussion protocol.

No update was given on running back Steven Jackson, who suffered a hamstring injury during the first padded practice.

Falcons rookie right tackle Jake Matthews is continuing to draw raves.

Peter King, the editor of TheMMQB.com, is making his rounds to different training camps around the league. He was here last week.

King chatted about his top three thoughts on SiriusXM NFL radio this morning. His second item was on the Falcons and the size of their offensive and defensive lines.

“A quick little picture in my practice day with the Falcons: Jake Matthews (was) in the two-minute drill (and) playing right tackle. “(He) stoned the pass rusher on seven consecutive hurry-up snaps in the two-minute drill. Let me tell you, when the Falcons saw that, they said, ‘We haven’t seen this in years. A right tackle who could actually stop people.’ ”
