thank u..is nikkas going to really play dumbHe means an ARTIST who has had hits CONSISTENTLY NATIONALLY...I'm talking HIT records that u not only hear on urban radio..but mainstream radio...
HIT records that cross over and get them nominated for national awards and other accoldes like that..
the last bay artist that i could THINK of that got THAT kind of sucess was Keisha Cole..and she was just an R&B Artist!...NOT a rap star...
LoveRance recently went Gold with Up..and Sage The Gemini went platnium with Red Nose (or so I was told)...but other then that..them nikkas are one hit wonders no matter WHAT you nikkas say....
The Bay doesn't have a young successful artist like Kendrick Lamar, or a Drake or a Big Sean or somebody like that...
Bay Heads keep living off old banners from what E-40, Too Short, Pac (if u can call him a Bay nikka), Mac Dre, and the rest of them Bay Legends left up from back in the day.
No young artist has took that ball and run for a DECADE...E-40 lightweight brought it back with Tell Me When To Go...but then after that when 40 gave the young dudes the ball they just fumbled it like Kyle Williams in the playoffs..
Ever since then the only relevance the bay has is when a mainstream artist shouts us out (Drake) or does a song with one of the artist....

fair enoughThey got young nikkas, they just dont get the push like Chiraq does .
im not talking prospects in tripleA who was/is the last bay nikka in the major leagues of hip hop and what year?
I mean you can hear the bay influence in every song and beat on the radio right now
ok?
again, i asked what was the point of makin this thread. the OP and you just wanted to take a shot at the bay. Thats all it was and thats cool. but lets not act dumb like yall nikkaz werent tryin to shyt on the Bay. You already knew the answer, but took the opportunity to throw some "mainstream/crossover/grammy award/pop artist" argument and run with it.
The bay aint never been with that pop/white people mainstream rap (exept for Hammer) The bay has been setting trends and creating our own culture and feeding the masses with the shyt that we come up with. We keep the clubs rockin, the parties lit, the sideshows yankin, nikkaz goin stupid on the turf out here. and then we got lames tryin shyt on the bay like "yall aint got no platinum artists, yall aint got no relevance"![]()
