187 = California Penal Code defines the crime of murder.

187 on an undercover cop was a line used by Snoop and Dre and Big Pun and Fat Joe. An undercover cop is a cop disquised as a regular person/or a criminal. So basically, Snoop and Pun were saying death to undercover cops. Call it what u want but Snoop and Pun were saying death to any cop who is disquised as a regular person. Whenever an undercover cop is exposed he's referd to as a rat, or a snitch or a leak or a cop. These are the terms that are used for undercover cops. You cant change history just because you dont like the fact that Hip Hop contradicts itself with the whole "Fukk the police" attitude but switches up when its Shaq.
