The weirdest part of this whole thread was those who came in here with that "All cops aint bad" bullsh*t justifying why Shaq doesnt get flack for being associated with police.....Like seriously, u are on a Hip Hop website. Hip Hop has been on some "Fukk the police" sh*t for decades. You cant just bend the tradition because all of a sudden its Shaq.

"Oh but we only hate on racist and dirty cops" :camby:

Thats not the tradition u hypocrite. 2Pac killed a cop who was just doing a normal stop on the song "Soulja Story." Snoop, Dre Fat Joe and Pun said 'its 187 on an undercover cop." Kool G Rap murdering an undercover on this 3rd album. Saigon threatening to kill security guards because they resemble cops for the sake of being pro Black. None of those fall in the category of "dirty cops."

So now that I'm calling Shaq out....all of a sudden you cats who claim Hip Hop tried to lie your way out of the truth as if Hip Hop hasnt been "anti all cops" for decades...FOH with that "Oh its just dirty and racist cops" bullshyt. :shaq2:

Bottom line, Since Hip Hop has been so anti cop for years....It looks hypocritical that Shaq doesnt get flack for being associated with police.

You didnt answer the question tho.
My first reply in this thread answered your question, but I'll answer it again here in plain English. Breh, nobody cares Shaq was a law. There's nothing wrong with a honest good hearted person choosing that profession rapper or not. Now we got a problem with fake nikkas in hiphop and always have. Rick Ross claimed to be a gangsta and drug dealer sohh the of course people will not like that shyt:yeshrug:

OK....I hear you.

But you still havent answered my original question so I'm gonna break it down:

Hip Hop for decades has had a "fukk the police" attitude.

Now what u just said , and I quote, " There's nothing wrong with a honest good hearted person choosing that profession rapper or not"
.......those are your words.....Not Hip Hop. Hip Hop never specified between good cop and bad cop.

And thats the difference.

I used examples, I said that in the song Soulja Story...2pac killed a cop who had pulled him over for whatever reason....Probably a good hearted cop like u stated.....But in the song 2pac kills him for nothing. You do remember that someone actually killed a cop and blamed that specific 2pac song right??

I used another example..the song Deep Cover with the line "Its 187 on an undercover cop" this was a song by Snoop, Dre, Fat Joe and Pun.....Thats 4 rappers who condone killing an undercover cop. A good hearted person just trying to collect a check, like u said.

I used another example where Saigon says he doesnt care if you are a security Guard his kill a cop mentality comes from being pro Black. So thats death to someone who resembles a cop.

So thats 2pac, Saigon , Fat Joe, Pun Dre and Snoop all condoning the death of cops on wax. None of them specified "Good hearted cops" as u just did.
And there's many rappers who have said other things for decades...I can keep going on and on.

And thats my point. You over hear saying Hip Hop doesnt have a problem with all cops but thats wrong.... Hip Hop doesnt specify like you and too many in this same thread have done. You over here specifying "Good hearted" cops but rappers dont specify on wax. This is a fact. Once you get past that fact then will you be able to answer the question.

This sounds cool but again we not talking about my opinion we talking about what hiphop has been saying for decades. Yeah good cops exist but hiphop don't specify all cops get lord together in hiphop and u know this.

When Public Enemy said "Fight The Power" who did you think they were talking about?...Hip-Hop don't specify that all women are not bytches including their wives, mothers and daughters but they get lorded together in Hip-Hop right?...:sas2:Hip-Hop has been speaking against police brutality for decades more from Ice-T to Public Enemy...to 2Pac...they're not grouping all cops together but the bad ones...especially the racist ones you see get away with murder...with Hip-Hop has had from the 90's on is an association with respecting cops and being a snitch...if you're seen being cordial with an officer...you're automatically a snitch or something or soft so you get banished...but we're talking about progressing and balancing the power not some snitching ploy bullshyt...so we're gonna need more black cops, lawyers and judges and just a general understanding of the law and your basic rights as a citizen...to know what a cop can and cannot do...because they don't even know most of the time...so this is a new generation homie...Shaq at least represented some of what I'm saying...a forward way of thinking to become the solution to your own problem...if we don't give a fukk, who else will?...

You are being optimistic tho.....U aren't really saying whats reflective of whats really going on. You are speaking on a world that we dont exist in.....Not saying we cant progress to that but as of now we just aren't there. So you cant place Shaq in that position because Hip Hop collectively hasn't come together to see things how u just explained. It would be nice if Hip Hop did but it hasn't. Its 2015 and rappers from Kendrick to Rich Homie Quan are still on some "Us vs Them" sh*t when it comes to popo.

As far as I'm concerned.....Shaq should still be suspect. Like I said, all this talk of informants in Hip Hop and here u have someone who is associated with Hip Hop who is openly down with popo. Aside from cats like Killer Mike who's pops was popo, Shaq is the only person I know who's associated with Hip Hop who falls in such a category.
