Not reall. We didn't know much about Saiyans aside from them being evil space pirates. Some are less barbaric than others but on the whole they all condone space genocide
how do they determine whos who? because goku was shot into space as a baby. and i havent seen one civilian saiyan
Theres alooooooooot of weird coincidences 
Even the fact that Goku and Vegeta will partner up but they dont really fukk with each other ALL the way (at least Vegeta doesnt) is very reminiscent of some Coli ADOS threads
Then you got Gohan and Future Trunks aka the mixed kids representing two different views
Gohan (Present Gohan not Future)
He sides more with his human self, even went so far as to say he doesnt like fighting at all, and if hes FORCED to gain power hell do it differently from his father (said this in Super) aka not the Saiyan way
Then you got Future Trunks who goes HARD for the Saiyan race, is proud of being Vegetas son even tho in his timeline he didnt get to meet him, he went so far as to learn his signature techniques aka he was cut off from his heritage but he did his research

Nah. Saiyans werent obsessed with fighting they were just evil as fukk. You didn’t notice that skinny dude traveling with broly’s dad? He directly mentioned how not all Saiyans are warriors, well by profession. They determine who’s who from birth in incubation chambers and measuring their inherent strength. They shoot the strongest warriors off into random planets as babies so they can wreck the place with their power and usually by becoming a great ape.
not all saiyans may be cut out to be warriors, but i dont think theres a subclass of warriors/civilians with saiyans. gokus mom wasnt cut out to be a warrior, but she was apart of bardocks warrior squad
