I have watched breaking bad twice now and Jesse Pinkman popularity with the fans of the show still baffles me

You really are a dumbass

"Generation Z, often called zoomers, refers to the cohort born between 1997 and 2012. This generation follows Millennials and precedes Generation Alpha. As of 2026, Gen Zers are aged 14 to 29"

If Jesse was early 20's at the start of the show then how is he not a gen z :gucci:
How would a gen z be 20 years old in 2010 what are you babbling about lol. Jesse is a millennial. Show takes place between 2008-2010

Walt literally fukked everything up being selfish and anyone who doesn't see that wasn't watching the show well enough.
He was a terrible selfish period never ant to just exit the game. They've killed everyone who had any indication they ever sold drugs and he just wanted more and more

funny Mike said the same thing about Walt

Maybe walt was pulling an elaborate ruse on everyone and wasn’t sick and slanging glass was his way out but nothing pops off without him.

He had too many conflicts (Hank) was too much of a simp (Skylar) and knew he bloodline (Flynn) was trash after him.

Dude wanted to be a half way crook instead of leaning into the life 1000% until it was time to leave for good. He had the goods to blow up Gus but not fake his own exit.

Sucks that he couldn’t make it work out with Mike — who was the only one with real sense at the end of this show

His popularity is because of the moral contrast between he and Walt, which essentially makes him the heart of the show, or even the avatar for the audience.

We were all roped into the game witnessing Walt unmask the evil that was always in him even as a meek people pleaser.

A lot of people compare Jesse to Christopher from the Sopranos. Both pretty unlikable in and of themselves but you feel for them in the context of who they stand next to and are most influenced by.

People feeling sorry for Jesse is lowkey:mjpls:

The same argument people are using to exonerate Jesse could be used for Tariq of power, an actual kid whose frontal lobe hadn't fully developed yet unlike Jesse who was an adult and wasn't held at gunpoint nor forced to partner up with Walt

Yet it's the black kid who had a drug dealing father as a shytty role model who is hated and not the cac adult who made all the wrong decisions of his own free will
