You derail the thread by assuming that nothing is being done. No shyt it takes outside action, like who needs you to come in with the criticism right off top? I could see if this was something the NAACP had been fundraising for for some time, but there are already precedents like the Massachusetts 54th memorial in Boston

and the African American Civil War Memorial in DC

So by simply saying "I'm talking but not doing nothing" is an ignorant assumption that takes away from the topic at hand.

Valid points but an actual statue going up aside, which is a separate discussion imo, I think we as a people should be using that idea as a talking point. Not so much for the statues themselves to be erected, but more for the fact that we as Americans have the right to put up stuff that represents our heritage as well, and if they feel the need to exalt a heritage that was harmful to us, then we should be able to do the very same thing--- put up some shyt that helped us and hurt them.

It will not only help our overall message get stronger, but it also shuts them Cacs down real quick in the Civil War memorializing argument while also painting them into a corner. When you hit them with the "well if Stonewall Jackson is over there then T Louverture should be over here" , they of course will not agree with it, but in doing that they also unknowingly admit to racism. I know first hand because Ive been saying the same thing OP is saying for years and that's my go to when I have that Civil War debate with them. I shut some rednecks in Indiana down with that one, had them looking real stupid because they had no comeback for it. You can literally see the reaction on their face when you mention putting up a Nat Turner statue. I lay that trap all the time for them and they dumb asses fall for it every time.

I hear you..but in the end its all symbolism. Even u stated it wont make the message stronger but it can be used as a talking point in a civil war argument. Look at how we posted up Martin Luther King BLVDs in Black neighborhoods all over the country.....and what was the outcome? Black comedians would even make jokes about it....Any street with MLK on it is more then likely the worst street to be on. And why is that? Why is it that the worst blocks are named after people like Martin Luther King and Malcolm X? So our people cant stop and say "Hey, lets not do dirt on this block"...... In the end these are just symbolic gestures


I agree with what u said about us having the right to put up statues where we feel.....That was my overall message to The OP, Be about it dont talk about it...But he's already displayed he's not to bright, he wouldnt qualify to even carry out such a task.
