Instead of Holiday pay Walmart has decided to offer a 15 percent discount for its employees.

Super slight technicality

We're what, 13% of the population?

And 21% of Wal-Mart's employees are black.

I mean, technically speaking it's disproportionate since 20% of the workforce is black while we only represent 13% of the U.S. population.

Still a :mjpls: post though

They been took away holiday pay like 3 years ago. Gave all the new hires a raise then took away holiday pay. The OGs also don't get extra from working weekends

Thinking back, that 15% discount was already in place. You get the regular 10% discount then you get the 15%. Remember I bought a PS4 that I still have, was 25% off.

So this 15% discount is nothing new. And they been took away holiday pay.

They're in a position where they can afford to exploit their employees. They know if a few complain, there's many more people willing to take their place. It's sad, I never want to be in a situation where my job required me to work a holiday, but did not want to appropriately compensate me for it.

I heard it from Senator Bernie Sanders
"Walmart is the largest private employer of African Americans in the country," Sanders wrote. "42 percent of its associates are black. And it pays its employees below a living wage — even while the Walton family owns more wealth than the bottom 40 percent of Americans."
Bernie Sanders gives Walmart black worker stat. Off by a lot
If you're gonna tell me, he's a senile old man unmoored from reality., and shouldn't be listened to, ill agree:lolbron:

I currently work at Walmart. Let me clear a few things up, The only employees that have ever gotten a Christmas bonus are ones that were hired before January 1st 2000. They still get that bonus. All employees are eligible for a quarterly bonus after their first 90 days though. They performance and attendance based. I’ve seen them anywhere from 60 bucks to around 500, usually averaging about 250(at the store I’m at). It’s a shyt place to work but not nearly as bad as what it’s made out to be.

Report their ass (anonymously)

When Have You Worked Overtime?
Under the FLSA, you have worked overtime if you work more than 40 hours in a week. Some states calculate overtime differently, however. For example, California and a few other states have a daily overtime standard, which makes employees eligible for overtime once they have worked eight hours in a day, even if they don't work more than 40 hours in a week.

Nah there's a grey area that we fall into, companies can hold workers exempt from OT if they are management and making a salary rate. This is how restaurants find the loophole...

Where I work, before December 9, your salary was paid whether you worked 40 or 80 hours, it was paid the same. Because there are exemption laws that allow you to not pay managers OT, what they are doing now is supposedly to help the management, you get OT now after 50, you just have to make sure you reach 50 to guarantee your salary...

So there's nothing to report about, they are protected with exemption laws...

Now show me where the employees received paid holiday bonus in the past:gucci:

Then show where it is stated that they were given this in lieu of said bonus:deadmanny:
you didn't get a holiday bonus, you get a holiday pay, then it was you could use the holiday as a vacation day later, that was how I took 10 day vacations every three months

you would get bonuses if they store hit goals but mine didn't hit them the last year I was there
