What alot of people dont realize is hes bigger and longer than alot of these comparisons yall making 
His defense at the moment is VERY suspect. But he doesnt look like a player thats doesnt have the tools to be an adequate defender.
He really just looks lost to me on D. You can tell hes been the biggest dude on the court his whole life and hasnt had to effort in on D before.
I think if he gets in better shape and with coaching he can be a plus defender

He has pretty much the same measurements of Curry (except Curry was bigger)
and , I dont mean that comparison as some sort of insult to Okafor. Eddy Curry was thought to be the next Shaq like player when he was being scouted
The have very similar games and body types. Curry just couldnt stay in shape and had alot of shyt going on personally (and medically at one point)

As far their games though I believe Okafor is much more polished than dude at this stage...
I agree with everyone in here that you cant win with a center that doesnt protect the rim. WIth his wingspan and some coaching he'll be good.
Why are all the other prospects going to get better and Okafors wont improve? People in here act like hes not athletic AT ALL. You can see in some of the moves he makes hes athletic enough to be a better defender with more effort.
Also I think some of yall are selling him short on offense. His numbers for a freshman were HISTORICALLY good offensively.
He was unstoppable at times earlier in his career.
When he was in high school, all people said around here, was that the only thing that could possibly stop Eddy from being a beast in the league was Eddy

He was a beast scorer though around the basket. Great touch, great footwork, & was like 6'11, 300 lbs

If Lakers select him, then eventually I would imagine Randle gonna get shipped out.
I would even try to trade Julius on draft day for a defensive big
That's why I don't want the lakers to draft him. He has to be catered to, to maximize his impact on a team. I'd rather have Towns, Russell, or Winslow and call it a day.

Al Jefferson is a skilled offensive player but he's also very flawed.
I'll put it like this, Healthy Dwight has a better impact on offense than Al does despite the fact that Al is a better scorer and more skilled one on one player.

He wont be a bust that is for sure. His game is to advanced in the post and he has enough size for that not to happen. But unless he improves his defense he will not be a dominant player in the league who can lead a team to a title. (Though he just did this for Duke) Okafor will be a 20 ppg guy in the NBA but I don't know if he will be a dominant rebounder who snags 12 or 13 a night to go with that. He wont be Brook Lopez with the rebounding but I doubt he averages over 10 a game in his best years. But 20 and 10 from a center in this day and age is more then you can expect and if he reaches that point he will have lived up to every expectation about him.
