They also have made it impossible to criticize anything they do by playing the anti-Semite card.

Poor Palestinians. Big part of the problem is that the rest of the Middle East loved them only to the extent that they could use their plight to solidify their own grip on power. Because they were so weak, they had to rely on the generosity of others for everything. And b/c the most extreme elements can drive policy, they never got a state when Israel was at its "weakest" (relatively speaking). Now the facts on the ground have shifted irrevocably.

Revolutionaries/people fighting for various causes etc should look at the Palestinian/Israeli issue as a lesson. A primer on what can go wrong when you make the perfect the enemy of the good. What can happen when you don't have a grip on the true state of affairs/facts on the ground. How moral support is necessary, but is never enough.
