Answer this question though...there's millions of guns in the US. No amount of laws is gonna make them vanish. So innocent law abiding citizens should have the right to protect themselves. Historical context: The United States was a colony of the crown. The tyrannical government they feared at the time was coming from Western Europe to claim colonial control of the land. The authors of the Second Amendment had no conception of semi-automatic or automatic weapons, weapons of mass destruction, a bicameral legislative system as a part of three part interconnected system with checks and balances, a wavering state-power system, nor an anarchical system of world governance. Mass-shootings were not in existence at the time, nor were militaries completely separated from the civilian population. If you're going to ignore the historicity behind the amendment, don't try to argue using it's creation.
And an argument of legally futility is incredibly stupid. The government seizes illegal weapons constantly. Should we abolish laws against hardcore drug use or sexual abuse as well because the law cannot possibly prosecute all cases? Of course not. Gun control should be in place regardless.
If a tyrannical government forms, there isn't even a snowball's chance in hell a bunch of weekend warriors and petty gun owners could possibly stop it with their poorly-modified AK-47s and cargo pants.

advocate for selling guns unfettered on street corners
guns available for sale at 7-11 or your local bodega
no id necessary to to buy any firearm from any source.
military grade weapons for all.
no age restrictions on gun purchase, if the 11 year old has the money let him buy!

but nobody no matter how pro gun, unless they are absolutely insane would agree with those things.

so clearly we all support some forms of "gun regulations" to varying degrees.

we can agree to disagree on what exact rules and regulations we would all like in place

I just support black folks being armed. But I support regulations. However there needs to be a concerted effort by the Feds to disband and disarm these white supremacist militias cuz ok you ban assault weapons but there is still millions of these rifles in the streets owned by cac hate groups. NOI and the New Black Panthers with the Huey Newton Gun club got toget her strapped up and set up a counter protest. Now imagine if there was no police or law and order for that matter? Those white boys would driving to South Dallas and kill every member of NOI. Owning firearms for a black man and woman is for self defense not to start war against the federal government or white folks.
