Watch basically everyone else on the court (Holmes, Saric, McConnell, Covington) and tell me they arent trying and havent improved. Dude is a lazy bum, just like he was at Duke. People have to get out of their mind that this dude was a number 3 pick and had number 3 talent, he never did. Hell, Derrick Williams was number 2 overall, sometimes everybody misses in scouting......
Well thats just another reason why I hate The Process :manny:. What if you tank for 4 years and end up drafting a hyped up bum? "Can't miss" prospects don't come around as often as people think and even good scouts and GM's can be dead wrong

Thats "The Process". This is what happens when you go 4 straight seasons not even pretending you want to win games. People stop caring and young players don't work as hard...

Its why I have always been against it
The 76ers actually play with good energy IMO

I understand that point, but that is the point of the process.. You sacrifice 3/4 years so that you have insurance that you get 2 superstars out of those drafts. You dont hit on all your picks, and it is stupid to think you will. That was the point i would assume to drafting 3 big men in a row, one of them will hit and you at worst you have one star and one role player.

The point of the process is to get stars to build the team around, and then the rest will come... Give yourself the best chance to get those stars, than worry about winning. This is because no free agents will come to philly otherwise

It's really embarrassing. If he doesn't have enough pride to play hard, I wouldn't want him on my team. Nobody asking this dude to be Bill Russell defensively but at least put a hand up and jump off the ground. There was another video from the same game floating around of him getting an alley oop type pass, he missed the layup then got the offensive board snatched from him by a guard. I don't know if his dad got in his head and making him think he's better than he is or deserves more than he's gotten, but he seems to make it clear why Brett Brown was benching him earlier this year.

Maybe this kid is just a big baby. I remember he and Tyus were going to make sure they went to the same college so maybe he just wants to be coddled and for everyone to pat him on the back. Regardless, he better show some fire or he's gonna become the next Greg Monroe without getting paid like Greg Monroe

The main thing I disagree with is that I don't believe tanking for 3/4 years guarantees 2 superstars or even 1. You might just end up where you started

And even if you get 2 superstars there is no guarantee that you will build a title contender you are just as likely to build a "treadmill team" like Toronto (or the Wizards) that makes the playoffs but never really competes for a title which according to The Process is the worst thing in the world (I don't agree)

There are way too many factors at play for me to believe that consistently being one of the worst teams in the league will one day pay off. The only thing thats guaranteed is losing games, losing fans and hurting your teams reputation until that nameless superstar comes and saves you...

I agree its not a guarentee that you become a championship team. The truth that makes it different than the Wizards is you make the decision to move forward when you have a transcendent talent, and not just an all star. Like john wall is really good and an all star, but hes not transcendent. Ben simmons is projected to be transcendent, Joel embiid if healthy is transcendent (fukk our medical staff btw).. you just cant settle with good, you got to be great.....

Sixers were on that treadmill like you said for 12 years before this process.. We would always add compliment pieces to get a little better, rather than try to be great (trading for out of prime glenn robinson, trading for busted Chris webber, Keith van horn, signing elton brand who had no chance to put over the hump, always drafting 9-18)... We were not going anywhere with a core of iggy, turner, thad, lou will and hawes, blowing it up is what is best. In philly, it hurt short term but now this Sixers team is really the only team the town has hope in today.. We view them as the best chance at getting a ship, and in Philly that is what we care about. We dont care to be competitive, we want a champion

:francis:There is no way this can be acceptable in philly the tanking was bad and you got maybe an all star. I don't think people realize being a treadmill team isn't bad only one team wins the championship so I would at least want my team to be competitive and be in the playoffs. There's always the chance you could be the Detroit pistons in 04 or mavs and sneak a championship in there. :yeshrug:

With the way philly is going now the reputation is hurt the fans are hurt and nobody will sign there for the foreseeable future. Doug Collins had yall making noise got Bynum which hurt but to completely bottom out like you had a kobe or a LeBron before is crazy. Also if you did draft a superstar why would he want to stay in a losing azz organization after his rookie contract since he would be playing with bums. IMO:ehh:

When you are sports crazed city that only has 5 championships total in 50 years with all four sports, you desire a champion. We are tired of the treadmill, nobody cared about the Sixers when they were a treadmill team. Sixers have won one playoff series since 03', and that was because Rose' career basically ended and Noah was hurt. This city hasnt won a playoff series since that one.

Also, rookies dont have a choice to not stay with their team in the nba, RFA makes it where you can match. Ask Eric Gordon when he tried to sign with Phoenix how it works to ask to leave, he just got out of New orleans after last year.
