I don't believe the 49ers will consider trading Boone at least not at this point.

yeah we're kinda in a pickle with boone. truth is martin looks absolute awful out there, and looney looks pedestrian. if boone could only play guard...but in my opinion hes also second best tackle on the squad. I really dont want us to lose him, and if we do nothing we get in return would offset the line becoming much worse. plus, absolutely most we can get for him is a 2nd rounder, and even thats too optimistic

problem is baalke is sending a message so I doubt he would budge, because that would set precedent. we need to resolve this shyt somehow :to:

:what:
They better pay boone, if not we better get some major pieces him.

This pay the man ...I have no faith in Jonathan Martin or Looney. I know its 1 preseason game but them dudes were practically turn styles .. coming off the issues we had last year on the right side of the OL even with Boone in there we can't take a step back this year. Hoping AD has a bounce back year but our pass pro would get destroyed especially against teams in our division.

in other news jeff garcia was joking on twitter about how hed be down to backup kaep..its both funny and sad that he very well might be a better qb right now at 44 than gabbert.

Dontae Johnson never gets beat deep. Thats all I hear every practice
I actually thought its the other way around from what I heard. seemed physical against good route runners like quan crabs and lloyd, but got beat a few times on deep routes

Dontae Johnson never gets beat deep. Thats all I hear every practice

--Ravens receiver Marlon Jones got deep pass 49ers cornerback Chris Cook to catch a ball from quarterback Joe Flacco.

--Flacco and Michael Campanaro hooked up on a 50-yard pass against the coverage of rookie Dontae Johnson.

--Steve Smith got deep over the top of starting cornerback Chris Culliver to haul in a 40-yard pass from Flacco. Culliver also was called for pass interference on the play.

Well it seems that Gabbert may fall down the depth chart is all, he's just goint to be the #3 guy.

If someone offers a a 4th this years and a 5th next year or something to that effect then we should deal Boone, Marcus Martin should be getting snaps at right guard.

We have way too many key injuries this camp, we need to look at some cuts from other teams and sign them.

Linebackers

Inside Linbackers

Patrick Willis - One of the games best MLBs he can hit like a mack truck and low key is one of the best in coverage assignments, he's also an underrated pass rusher in the blitz, but in a lot of blitz packages he is asked to stunt and then play coverage, this year he is going to have to remind people why he is HOF level. Without Navarro Bowman to split off resonsibilities to, he's essentially carrying that LB corps in a lot of ways as well as the defense in general Grade: A

Navarro Bowman - I thought should have got DPOY last year, he was either near the top 5 or top 10 in almost every statistcal category and was even better than P Willy, that being said, he's going to be out for most if not all the regular season next year, so we'll have to make due with out his high motor, playmaking skills and impressive coverage. We got such a steal in him in the 2010 draft and he's only 26 Grade: A

Michael Wilhoite - A solide veteran linebacker, very strong physically though not especially fast. He's more of a battering ram than pass rush specialist, but he's going to play a lot this year, and I think he's a very solid backup, he gets in on a lot of plays, and he takes good pursuit angles when tackling and he a sure fundamental tackler. I thought we would lose him to FA, but luckily he slipped under the radar. Grade: B-

Nick Moody - Another lunchpail type of player that is why our LB corps is so deep. That being said, I think the bulk of his snaps will be on special teams like it was lat year, but he needs to stay loose, his odds on playing on defense are as high as they've ever been. Grade C+

Chris Borland - He's pretty stout for an ILB not especially tall, but he can put in work. I see him as a sort of utility guy in the future, he gonna get tackles and pickup the pieces. He has good instincts and good tackling ability which is key. I do have lingering questions about his size though, he has little room for error in his technique. Grade: C

Shayne Skov - He's practice squad jerky as far as I'm concerned. He has decent fundamentals but lacks athleticsm. He reminds me of a poor poor mans Derek Smith and even that is pushing as Derek Smith was a fairly productive linebacker. He has got work to do if he wants to be a specialist in the NFL. Grade: F

Outside Linebackers

Aldon Smith - An elite talent on the field but he is a ticking bomb (no pun) off the field. Facing probable suspension (I think 6-8 games is likely) he has to stop channeling his inner Charles Haley. He is a once in a decade talent but he is no good to us behind bars. Grade: A-

Ahmad Brooks - Supremely underrated, he would be the defensive leader of almost any team in the league but here is he one of many. He is all over the field and is equally good at run stopping and pass rushing though I wonder if the team is going to want to move him in the future. He's on the other side of 30 and his trade value is still relatively high, his contract while expensive is not prohibitively so on a team looking for instant defense and a veteran that knows the ropes. Grade: B+

Dan Skuta - I think he was a nice pick up for us, I think he the prototypical LB for us, big bodied tough, as long as he improves. He has a future on the team as a depth Linebacker. Grade: C

Black Costanzo - A special teams guy at this point in his career, and if one of the younger guys excels, he may not make it out of camp. Grade: D+

Aaron Lynch - We're not gonna see much of him this season, but I think he is more of a pure athlete than a linebacker per se, he could become a good specialist in the future. Grade: D

Thomas Chase - I just think he'll be a practice squad guy, but with injuries to a lot of LBs he's gonna get the snaps to prove he belongs. Vic Fangio like him but he's got long odds to make the roster. If the Green Bay Packers who are thin at linebacker saw no reason to keep him, that should say something. Grade: F

In conclusion: This is our deepest position in the team. He have a lot of guys that can contribute and will contribute this year. Our startes are amongst the leagues best and we have eager young talent behind them. We're good here. Unit Grade:A

Edit: Corey Lemonier - Dude is a gifted pass rusher, imo, he has great instincts and I think will be a worthy substitute for Aldon Smith, who could miss at minimum 4 games next season. He has to become a better run stopper but he has got a lot of potential for a young man. Grade: B
