Niners are hovering at 9 million under the cap last i heard.
Break Boone off a couple million more over the next two seasons, and get that ring.

its not about the money, its about the way hes gone about it. if he would of kept quiet he would have a new deal like staley. he needs to report and he'll get his money

So, here's an article about holdouts.

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap20...ndbook-exploring-key-issues-for-players-teams

According to this article, Boone won't be credited a year because he didn't report by August 5th. So even if he holds out all year, he'll still have 2 years left on his contract.
For the club

The truth is, teams have plenty of levers to pull. There's the aforementioned $70,000 fine for skipping a mandatory minicamp. There's the penalty -- up to $30,000 -- they can assess the player for every missed day of training camp. They can also dock each guy the equivalent of a game check -- 1/17th of his salary -- for missing a preseason contest. And if an under-contract player doesn't report by Aug. 5, he loses an accrued season.

SF...well the NFL in general...stay having these etherous contracts. Dude needs to cut his losses, get back out there and hope something gets worked out in the interim.

anybody notice how good of a camp dontae johnson is having? nice work against the ravens during the game and in practice
yep, hes been moving up. the only blemish I heard from practice/camp is that he tends to get burned deep. I think hes ahead of any other rookie DB, including ward

Nah, I dunno about that.

He could have kept quiet and would we have gave him a deal over Aldon? Vernon? Crabtree? Iupati?

We got a lot of people to pay, he played the game wrong but it might not have made any difference. Being quiet was no guaranteed deal

niners arent going to let both starting guards go, iputati wants to be the highest paid gaurd. you can sign boone much cheaper.

niners dont have to deal with aldon until after next season.

crabs i feel like hes a goner unless hes the one that gets left out in a deep wr pool

It's going to be interesting to see who stays or goes, I think possibly if that trade is sweet enough maybe we can let Boone walk and keep Iupati.

They're both great, but Boone is more versatile, and yet Iupati is the bettter player at the position.

It's tough

Iupati has stated that he wants to stay in SF, so the organization has a little bit of leverage.
Sentiments tend to change after you win a SB, though, and player will - instead - be after the pay-pay since they already have a ring (Golden Tate).

Can't blame him though, other people getting paid, he was an undrafted FA as I recall.

A guy who got re-signed when he was just about to start playing so his deal was small.

Why are we shytting on this guy but seems like we give passes to a lot of others players who need to "get their money". If anything Boone needs it more than 90% of holdout players
