The Los Angeles Lakers are believed by Chad Ford to have Emmanuel Mudiay ahead of Jahlil Okafor on their board.

There could be some overlap with Julius Randle and Okafor, though they have Okafor ahead of D'Angelo Russell and Justise Winslow.

If the Lakers win the lottery, they are expected by Ford to pick Karl-Anthony Towns.

Looks like the Lakers won't be taking Okafor afterall. If Towns goes first, then they'll take Mudiay. Chad Ford and Mark Heisler are both reporting this. And it also confirms some of the rumors the last couple of days about the Lakers trying to make a run for Marc Gasol. They wouldn't try to sign Gasol if they liked Okafor.

Lakers Board:

1. Towns
2. Mudiay
3. Okafor
4. Russell
5. Winslow

Muiday could end up being the best player from this draft. wouldnt surprise me at all...its hard to find the type of athleticism he has at PG. he's already an elite slasher, if he work on his J I could see it. especially learning from Kobe. but then gain Okafor fills a bigger need and coming off a strong season. tough call

Wanted to see a front court of Okafor & Randle. They do need a center, pg, sf, though. Matter of fact they need everything...

i'd rather sign marc gasol than draft okafor. i'm really scared off by his lack of lateral mobility on pick n rolls let alone the fact he doesn't protect the rim. plus his god awful free throw shoooting.

No way is Mudlay ahead of Russell and Okafor on the lakers board. That dude is guessing out of his ass.

Mudiay is DEFINITELY ahead of Russell. way more athletic. way better slasher. better lateral quickness. better defensive potential. all Russell has on him is a jumpshot and that can be learned more easily than it is to learn how to become faster, stronger, or more athletic.

some people are calling him the next Russell Westbrook. I personally have no problem with taking Mudiay 2nd overall. he's was spectacular at the hoops summit last year.

Exactly.... dude's getting hyped off averaging 18/6/5 in CHINA :mjlol:... Will Bynum just avg 23ppg out there and Marbury still winning mvps out there

he was being projected as a top 2 pick as early as 2013 because of what he was doing on the high school circuit. he also dominated the hoops summit last year. displayed the slashing ability and athleticism of john wall.

he looked like a star to me before he went to china.

So he's a faster tyreke evans or jrue holiday ? Russell has elite shooting and playmaking at least.
