In Jerry's defense it was still ultimately up to Scottie to sign. He couldn't make Scottie sign. Scottie was a grown man and fully aware of the upcoming Collective Bargaining Agreement.

actually scottie pippen being underpaid was his own fault. he was advised NOT to take the long term deal, and he did it anyways only to start bytching right afterwards. that's widely known. his representation should have been advising him on whether or not to sign that deal

same way magic johnson signed a 25 year $25M contract in the 80's. he didn't start bytching about it two years later.

that's Scottie's agent that should have said that. Reinsdorf telling him that, knowing how cheap he can be, is why I don't believe him personally.
