I don't fukk with Gilbert but you gotta really look at the Cavs.... yes they deserve most of the blame but
Lebron was too good, too soon. You know the highest draft pick the Cavs got in the LeBron era was something like 10, which was Luke Jackson? That was Lebron rookie year. Next year, Cavs barely miss the playoffs so they got 14 or something... Look at every champion/Contender in the NBA. 99% had 2-4 lottery picks. Shyt, KD got Russ at #4, Harden at #3. Curry got Barnes #7, Klay #11. Shyt, Cavs got 3 #1 picks by the time Lebron came back. Finally dude got the young, lottery talent that he never got the first time around in Kyrie and TT. And Wiggins / Bennett became huge assets to get Love.
Boozer, the Cavs only young homebred All Star talent slid. Big Z was too old by the time Lebron emerged
Cavs missed on Larry Hughes. Mo Williams was decent, but they wanted him to be a 2nd option when he was a 4th. But let's be real. .. how many impact upper echelon top 20 players really switch teams like that? That how Cavs end up with Shaq in 2010
By 2008, no FA would sign a long term contract there b/c nobody knew what LeBron was doing in 2010. So really, a 5 year window to build something around dude
