lets break it down
what is a pass first player period? is it the opposite of a volume shooter?

I always felt like Larry Bird was a more apt comparison purely in terms of how he combines the scoring and playmaking.
only pass first in crunch time
It's not that he's "pass first" but he is a willing passer who knows how and knows the importance of getting teammates involved.
nikkas just love to make comparisons. It's really about their limited minds more than anything. When they see something new, that they can't fit into one of their predetermined boxes, their brain doesn't know how to react.
People wanna compare every great basketball player to Jordan but LeBron and Jordan's games are very different so there really is no "comparison". You can prefer one over the other but that's it.
Truth is we've never seen anything like LeBron. First off, he's the same size as Karl Malone. Malone was an all time great and no one would question that. But LeBron is infinitely more skilled than his physical counterpart. That should tell you how great this dude is! That we're comparing essentially a PF to the greatest wing of all time should tell you how great this dude is!
Best comparison for LeBron? I'd have to borrow a line from Jigga: If you haven't heard, he's Michael, Magic and Bird all rolled in one.Plus he'll chase your shyt down and beat it out the gym.

It's absurd that people keep going on about how LeBron is more like Scottie Pippen or Magic Johnson in terms of his offensive mentality.
LeBron is a great passer, but if he is a "pass first" player, then who isn't a pass first player?
LeBron's career regular season ppg is 27.13, good for fifth all-time, and within 0.25 ppg of the number three and number four guys (Elgin Baylor and Kevin Durant)
LeBron's career playoff ppg is 28.28, again good for fifth all-time, and within 1 ppg of the number three and number four guys (Jerry West and Kevin Durant)
Magic Johnson averaged 19.5 ppg in the regular season and in the playoffs.
Scottie Pippen averaged 16.1 ppg in the regular season and 17.5 ppg in the playoffs. Pippen only had 4 seasons where he averaged over 20 ppg.
LeBron routinely scores 30+ points, and it's not uncommon for him to get 40+ points
Magic had 10 career 40 point games
For his career, Kobe Bryant averaged 19.5 field goal attempts and 7.4 free throw attempts per game. LeBron has averaged 19.6 field goal attempts and 8.2 free throw attempts per game.
LeBron is as much of a shooter/scorer as anyone this side of Michael Jordan. To characterize him as a player who is "pass first" is ridiculous.
Lebron big but he's nowhere near as big as the mailman, and I say lebron is like dr j(transition finishing), grant hill(playmaking, ball handling), a dash of pippen, throw in a little nique(explosiveness), in a Larry Johnson esque frame basically dude is a real live created player
I'm e-slappin' the next nikka to diss GOATie Pippen

They both weigh 250-260 pounds. Malone is an inch taller. They carry their weight differently but they are essentially the same size. Any way you look at it, LeBron is really a big. None of the guys you mentioned are anywhere close to LeBron's size but you're comparing them in skill. That says A LOT about LeBron.
