Pimp C could have been a blues artists.. His beats sounded like the southern blues, the basslines, the electric guitars, the way the hooks are sung, etc.. Him and Mike Dean were probably the best ones at those type of beats.. I wouldn't put John Bido or NO Joe too far behind them tho...

I hurt me when Pimp C died. My boy Bankroll Jones, a real OG had just signed to UGK Records. Pimp died later that same year. My boy was in tears. I went to houston that December for Pimp C Memorial party or whatever. Met his mom and son. Bun B big head azz. My boy said pimp C hard one of my songs I did with him and he liked it.

@shopthatwrecks you know why Pimp and DMD fell out? Before Pimp died I kept hearing that he utterly hated DMD but I never knew why. I heard he turned all religious and doing gospel music now.

Exactly, everyone that knows about UGK knows that Pimp C was the heart and soul soul of UGK. He did most of the production and layed down most of the hooks. But Bun came through with those soild 16 and was basically the Big Boi to Pimp C's wild character. But Bun wasn't trash by any means. He probably has fallen off a lil bit but please show me a rapper who was going hard in the 90's that hasn't falling off...
