Mike the Executioner
What went on up there? Poppers and weird sex!
I think we can all agree that Nexus losing at SummerSlam in 2010 was a bad idea, and even worse was how the finish was booked. Everybody involved said that it didn't work.
But even if Nexus wins at SummerSlam, what's the guarantee that they're able to maintain their buzz for the rest of the year? WWE knows how to ruin a good thing if you let them. The only way the storyline makes sense is if Wade Barrett wins the WWE Championship, which would have ensured Nexus' dominance. But he lost all of his title matches.
They had an interesting storyline in making Cena join The Nexus and it ended in a month.
It's not like after SummerSlam, things changed for the better. Nexus just stopped being taken seriously by Vince. He could have easily had them go back to being dominant and wrecking shyt. Wade Barrett could have walked into WrestleMania XXVII as the WWE Champion and Cena could have faced him in one final showdown. But their booking just got worse after SummerSlam.
When you really think about it, would Nexus have been able to go on a run if they won that match?
