Macbook Pro vs Macbook Air?

with the new OS, everybody is saying you need 8gb. I got 4gb on my air and with the latest OS, it's a bit sluggish compared to the previous OS. Go with the 8gb. It's pretty standard nowadays
I'm going to go against most people in this thread and say...
hell no don't spend 500 on your lil bros computer...Get him one of those HP streams...it isn't going to be nothing but a porno/music download box that he may sometimes use for school work. So save the 400 dollars and cop him a windows that will damn near work with anything he needs.
unless he's into music that is. I consider Macs to be a luxury item....But it's up to you my Breh...
That's a pretty good price on that.
Try to get them down to $450 and spend $50 on a 128GB SSD drive. shyt will run just fine for everyday tasks.

I'd get the pro. I have a windows laptop, and I NEVER take it out the house unless we are going out of town. with smartphonesand ipads, I don't see the point of taking a laptop places anymore for the most part.
Copped a macbook pro, retina display 13 inch last month 
Went in to buy an Air, but then seen the prices and was like why not get the Pro? shyt is light as fukk anyway and a retina screen plus more SSD hard drive space...no brainer. I can always cop an external b/c i wasn't paying rape for a bigger flash hard drive.
I'm running out of cool things to do on this beautiful machine though. I want to up my productivity or something. Didn't drop all this bread to log on to the Coli

exactly...nikkas in here not giving him the full info..don't fukk wit the Air at all...but the MacBook Pro Retina has disadvantages...like..if u don't give a fukk about the Retina Display like that...the shyt CANT be upgraded...so u cant go back and upgrade ram n shyt like that...with the mid 2012 edition..u can upgrade to an SSD...and upgrade ur Ram....least u gonna pay for a MacBook pro retina is 1100 bucks and only an 128gb ssd....

youre good. i got a late 2011 and its still money except for yosemite's buggyness. 16gb ram. out of warranty repair 350 flat
so basically every 3 or 4 years, 350 gets you a fresh rig if need be
