There's a lot of ATL dudes that get shyt as well.

They would get more shyt if they were selling a million copies and winning grammy's.

Do you think Macklemore would be called shyt if he was doing 10k first week and 35k total like the ATL rappers you are talking about?

The cats from the previous generation like Franchise boys, D4L and whatever the fukk their names were, got blamed for "killing hiphop" let's not act like everyone who's wack and makes a name out of themselves doesn't get it.

He can flow, "spit" and write pop songs with "substance" but he's not a good rapper imo. Brings nothing new to the table, monotonic flow like Microsoft Sam, not charismatic (in the booth), I mean I can go on but you get the point. Conclusively he raps like the average rappers everyone had in their high school besides the important fact that he can write pop songs.
Oh, I get it now, you nikkaz want every white rapper to sound like Action Bronson. I'm not saying you gotta like Macklemore but I don't see a reason to hate.

You get a :myman: for just responding breh.

Better hope Mora stays or you guys will not be running shyt for long. Frankly, your lucky bytch ass Sark is at USC right now.
Our recruiting is right there with Oregon. Not even the 49ers can take Mora from LA. He's the mayor of Los Angeles

I was talking to my homie about this earlier. Look at all the subpar nikkas we've let into the game and become a success (and by we, I mean the culture and the masses). Look at Soulja Boy and how wack he was/is and yet he had a huge record and sold a lot of albums off of it. Puffy sold crazy records while admitting he didn't write his own rhymes and we all know he's not the best rapper or even adequate. That's just off the top of my head but I'm sure plenty of you can name wack rappers who've been successful off of this shyt even for a little bit of time and we allowed it. We allowed it on some "aye man his beats crank" or "that's the shyt I want to hear in the club" or "dudes don't need to be lyrical all the time" so of course someone like Iggy is going to see that, see that it doesn't take much to become a hit rapper in hip hop and take advantage of that. We allowed the shyt by giving a pass to any and every cat who made us dance or encouraged us to get drunk.

And another thing, why in the fukk do some of you cats care about a grammy? As long as the grammys have acknowledge hip hop, the genre has really never given a fukk about it. They've been boycotted by numerous artists numerous times and I thought it was common knowledge that the award means jack and shyt...so why all of a sudden do you care?

There have always been party songs in hip hop. At no point were those dudes considered the head of the game. Yet, people like Iggy do that shyt and they end up on the cover of Forbes as the new face of hip hop. When Macklemore makes a positive song that black artists make everyday he is considered as some sanitizing force in hip hop. There will always be backlash when a white person is considered to be the head of a predominantly African-American genre, but it will even more so when he is average.

Macklemore can actually spit though. Vocally he's very good. Can control tempo and has multiple flows. Him winning over Kendrick is ridiculous though.

People think he's garbage because of subject matter, being overrated and overplayed by the mainstream, and the fact that he benefits from white privilege.

I agree the nikka can spit, but Kendrick can spit and his subject matter is crazy.

One of the most emotional songs I have ever heard.
