Yeah it's between Bensonhurst and Bay Ridge, two other crime-ridden mobbed up neighborhoods.

The Dyker Heights section of Brooklyn is the kind of place where a promising thug can make a name for himself. Just across the Verrazano Bridge from Staten Island, it is a choice slice of the Italian-American dream, Colombo style.

Ellen Corcella, a former federal prosecutor who went after the Dyker Heights crew in the 1990s, is familiar with the indoctrination ritual. “These mob guys recruit kids who are 14 into their crews,” she says. “Literally, they get the chance to wash the big mobster’s car and hang out with him. Then, next thing you know, you’re invited to see him murder someone. Then you’re told to take care of someone.”

I'm not from NY. But I've visited a few times. Went once with my girl (who loves Italian food) and went on a tour trying different Italian restaurants. Everywhere we went, people told us how the Italian influence in the neighborhood had shrunk, "Little Italy is a shell of itself", etc. So I just assumed "white flight" had happened everywhere in BK, Queens, Bronx and everyone had moved to Long Island, New Jersey, SI.

I was in the BLM bike rally yest that went thru Dyker. Easily 500 bikes deep. A cac in a
pickup truck with a giant maga flag followed in Dyker, and he had a NYPD bike patrol escort around him the entire time. What a fukkin loser.
