Delirious finally got fired as the booker :blessed:

Massive L for AEW & Meltzer. Marty to AEW when his deal was up was the most surefire lock of all time & they couldn't get it done.

Meltzer been talking about it like it was done for the last month because there was a picture of Marty on a BTE episode claiming they don't do stuff unless their going to pay it off. Just a couple days ago he was spinning it as a big loss for WWE that guys could make good money elsewhere & have beeter matches outside WWE. Then he tried to claim he could sign with ROH & still work with AEW like that shyt even makes sense. Did all that while just ignoring Marty being advertised for future ROH shows.

Going to be even more hilarious when ROH & NJPW starts doing stuff together again.

I see this as an L for Marty. They wouldnt give Marty the belt over Taven and now wont get it til he literally books it himself... in ROH... in 2020... with the least interesting roster theyve had ever. But at least Delirious is out as booker. :yeshrug:
And apparently they'll still let the lesser Hunter be near the book :hhh:

I might be in the minority here but, I don't think AEW needs another member of The Elite, right now when they've barely fleshed out Hangman's character on TV. They have a backlog of characters they need to finish introducing too.

It would have been like a ball team bringing in another point guard, when they already have six of them, but no centres. It's not even like Scurll would be their junior heavyweight specialist, because AEW has no weight classes.

It would have made for a :gladbron:moment on Being The Elite, but then what? :manny: I haven't fukked with ROH like that since Lethal was double champ, but they needed something to keep them in the conversation. This could be it. :ld:
Exactly. Why get lost in the shuffle when you can deal the cards? ROH hasn't been relevant since The Elite left, this could be their comeback. Why make the fans choose when there's so many viable options to watch wrestling?

I wonder what camp Scurll ends up being in with the book; is he like the other Elite ilk where they worry about getting everyone else over at the expense of themselves to the point where it backfires... or does he go full Lawler/Dusty/Nash/Territory-era and use him having creative control and the book to enhance himself?

Curious things in wrestling in 2020.

I do think it'd benefit ROH to get a working relationship with AEW - no honest reason not to, and I think using AEW as a platform to showcase who they have would definitely be to ROH's benefit. Because right now they're #4 in the US in my estimation, and woulda been #5 if NJPW didn't just lose their stateside platform. (I think MLW > ROH) That being said... maybe it goes the other way and ROH and NWA work together? I think that could be nice.

Eli Drake cutting promos on Jay Briscoe would be hilarious.
Worse than AEW snatching there talent away, they also took many of their refs, producers, agents, etc. :heh:

I don't see ROH wanting to fukk with them, and it damn sure won't benefit AEW

All it would do is make it even easier for AEW to sign guys away from them.

NJPW don't want to deal with AEW & ROH lost way more than NJPW did when AEW became a thing. NJPW really just lost Omega, ROH lost all of the Elite, SCU, Best Friends, & backstage people & had them start a direct competitor against them. Even if Marty wanted to start something between the compaies, I doubt the people above him want it.

I mean he's becoming a booker but it's ROH. He could had worked with AEW but why would he want to work for AEW? ROH not putting those butts into seats, but Marty could put those butts into seats?

I really can't be mad with this decision :patrice:

No he cant because the roster isnt interesting enough to do that anymore. How interesting can he make a Vinny Marsalgia title run. Or even his own? Villian Enterprises has been neutered right after go and you cant keep playing the Briscoe card. Unless they start throwing real money out to real stars, and real stars are interested in being in a 2020 ROH, I dont see them going anywhere.

If ROH is paying him WWE main roster money to work 40 dates, might as well secure the bag for 2 years.

This one stings, the storyline and everything around Marty was most likely pre booked, can't believe ROH is clinging on survival to the point they're paying their talent WWE main roster money and they perform in front of 2 3 hundred people 3 times a month.

Marty taking an L on this

Him alone ain't saving ROH :russ:

Maybe he can salvage the NJPW relationship but AEW would be dumb as hell to partner with ROH. Atleast he getting paid bc his buzz and prime done with after this deal

He is and isn't. Cons is he is still working with ROH, but he is getting paid global money, has creative control, can work NJPW/NWA, does 40 dates a fukking year.

However, he HAS to work outside of ROH if he really wants buzz because I dont see them making major moves broadcast wise.
