Drake and Rocky both use Memphis style production more than Houston Style. Pretty flacko and hype are two examples

Either way neither has shyt to do with Mike Dean

Drake is more on the Houston/Atlanta side than the Memphis side. Rocky is straight up Memphis.

Either way, :mjlol: at trying to slap Mike Dean's name into the mix. For the record, I already know Mike Dean did co-production on a Rocky joint (M's) but that beat was really Honorable C Note.
And it's an decent Rocky record all things considered, but not top tier.

The way some of y'all rush to give mediocre cacs credit :laff: :mjcry:

And for the record, it's not because Dean is cac. Clams Casino is cac and Clams Casino is way better than Mike Dean. shyt aint even close. And I've been very vocal about giving Clams his props.

We know the white dudes who've laid down some amazing shyt for hip hop. Mike Dean aint one of them. so for him to be saying some unbelievably arrogant shyt lets me know where his mind's at.
Frankly, it's worthy shaming dude outta hip hop.

I mean as far as production style not name dropping. I noticed drake name drops Houston a lot.

If scorch said it the half the black music comment woulda made more sense

No it wouldn't have. You either aren't that familiar with Mike Dean's productions or you're just going off Storch's hits. Mike Dean has had his hand in Hip Hop for the past 30-40 years.

Drake and Rocky both use Memphis style production more than Houston Style. Pretty flacko and hype are two examples

Either way neither has shyt to do with Mike Dean

Drake & Asap like practically the entire modern rap industy rap over Memphis style production...but Drake's rap style is closer to Z-Ro than anybody from Memphis.

90's Memphis rap was heavily influenced by the early 90's Houston scene....

^^^from '91...produced by Dope E...these two songs are more innovative, ahead of their time and INFLUENTIAL than anything Mike Dean has ever produced.

It's shyt like this that helped create the sonic landscape for Memphis rap...dark, cinematic samples + thudding basslines...

Paul & Juice along with other Memphis producers/dj's used to sample the shyt out of this album...

Dope E in his 1 year @ rap-a-lot had an easily quantifiably larger impact on the sonic landscape of southern rap than Mike Dean in his entire career. :ehh:

So where's his CAColades?

Don't give a damn how well he mixes & masters albums...as far as crafting/producing music...he's sub-par when compared to practically all of his Houston/Rap-A-Lot contemporaries across the board, when it comes to innovation, impact and quality.
