Hip hop is the manifestation of the black experience. Hip hop is the manifestation of black folks intrinsic nature and creativity.

Therefore cacs cant own or "make" anything because its not in them. A black child who doesnt rap is more hip hop than any white producer, white executive etc

:camby: with the sudden overrating of Scott Storch especially putting him over Mike Dean. Storch played on some hits and a nice run of his own. He falls off, goes on a drug binge, comes back and all of a sudden, people wanna claim he's some kind of avant garde producer. Storch is dope and had some hits, but people are in here like dude was crafting dope albums.

Didn't Mike Dean made some beats on "wicked buddah baby" by 3-2? Album is a personal classic for me.

nikka's is so sensitive.

He's right, not accurate but he's right.

We are some of the most creative people in the world but rap is and really has never been black owned or established. The white man has always been raping us when it comes to the back end. Also ALOT of white and Asian people are producing editing and pieces together ALOT of your favorite rap tracks. Especially in this bubble gum rapper age.

And yall shouldn't even be entertaining someone talking black this and that while laid up with a white person. I got absolutely nothing against IR but don't talk on black issues, love and pride while boo'd up with someone of the opposite sex. Obliviously it aint that attractive to you.

lol. They really aint even in the same league to be honest when you look at how many hits storch banged out. There is a reason you didn't post Storch's Discography in this thread. $hits even too long to paste. His work with beyonce alone is greater than anything Dean ever created. Hell even Mario's "Let me love you" is greater than Deans career. Scott Storch production discography - Wikipedia

:camby:with that garbage. "Me, Myself, & I", I'll give you, but Storch's work with Beyoncé is pretty much cheaply produced knock off versions of these:

"I've made half the black music you love"

First of all, most of the hip-hop I like is Native Tongues kinda stuff, and he's never touched a Dilla track or D'angelo so far as I know, so.
But on top of that, Marvin Gaye? Uh, Al Green? Let me think, Bob Marley. Curtis Mayfield. Jimi Hendrix. The Blues?
Motherfukking Jazz?
Mingus, Davis, Coltrane, Dizzy, Bird, Lester Young, Thelonious Monk, Herbie Hancock.

How much black music throughout history does Mike Dean think he's been responsible for? Half the black music I love...okay that guy's fukking drunk

He definitely overstated his importance and involvement in Black music. The only way his statement holds any kind of validity is if the person he was responding to mainly listens to Kanye, Beyoncé, and Jay Z. Even then, he'd have to be referring to 2010 and forward for Kanye, and Beyoncé and Jay Z's most recent albums. Half is a reach by any stretch of the imagination.

Out here in my damn drawls
Some of y'all can talk about notes and instrumentation being universal all you want, but soul and rythmn are synonymous with black, the content of the records are black, and a majority of the artists are black.... and we're not just talking about Hip-Hop or Rap

She gave a perfect example with the Solange album. That was a black-centric album, no matter who produced and crafted the beats
