And this is my major problem with Moonlight. I'm not mad at the subject matter. It's actually interesting subject matter that is rarely explored. It just wasn't a good movie and I wasn't enlightened.
I find it so hilarious how reviews were QUICK to shyt on Birth of a Nation for being flawed but can't point out the numerous flaws in Moonlight: terrible ending, meandering screenplay, Juan's character disappearing with zero explanation, forced dialogue in parts, cliche poverty porn scenarios...
And to top it off, it's just been revealed that the white lady who helped get Emmitt Till get killed lied in court. As though White women haven't been making up "he raped me" stories since the 17th Century.
Nate Parker probably sitting back watching all this like
