Great movie, y'all hate moonlight but got tickets to see Madeas cookout

Stay dumb

It really wasn't that good tho. Best Picture of the year winner? Nah. Not even close. That movie with Denzel was way better written, shot, produced etc. I ain't gonna act like it was a pos movie, but you could tell it was somebody's first try at movie making. And I hate to echo the brehs talking about the agenda but I can't help but think that's the only reason this movie did numbers. When I went and saw it I told my homegirl the very same thing. I was like watch this sub par movie get an Oscar just cuz it's about some Black gay dudes. It's the ghetto Brokeback Mountain, any idiot who can think for themselves could see this coming

You can say that but that win means something to place where black people are marginalized and it shows Black Miami we can do different shyt besides playing sports, rapping and selling drugs.

It for sure means something. That's why I'm on the fence about it. Cuz our movies don't get no shine and this was probably middle America's first glimpse of some urban down south shyt. Gold Teeth, old schools with big rims, in the hood playing 21 toss up with the footbal, the Florida slang like where Juan called the bando a "hole". All that shyt is down south shyt and it's never really been seen on a stage like that. But it also played up hella stereo types which is why I'm on the fence about it.

And you mean the guy who made the movie in terms of that Black Miami shyt right? I feel you on that. It's good to see a breh make it out of Dade and put his mark on the world. It's just said he had to make a movie about a Black dude trapping and being gay to make it pop like that
