it'd be most advisable to go to the most prestigious school w/ the most connections in case football doesn't work out. period.

a lot of these athletes are seen by programs are cattle, so it's on the athlete and his support system to maximize his opportunities outside of football as much as possible. if he's an elite talent, he'll be noticed practically anywhere.

an SEC school is going to be less likely to encourage an athlete to be seriously concerned about academics than say, Stanford or UMich
there is vandy.

and it's not stanford or anybody, they are in a class of their own when it comes to admitting athletes. michigan is fishing in the same waters as the other big teams.
