odd that the Raiders let Veldheer go and pay Saffold a little more

Minny has to be kidding with that Griffen contract

Albert :blessed: still want OL in the 1st but that would be huge
:ehh: Word going around is that the Raiders offered Veldheer a 10+ mill contract, but looks like he wants to leave instead and go to the Card's for 7.5 mill, which is the only way I can see why Safford is getting paid more than Veldheer. Really doesn't make sense for Veldheer to leave and take less guaranteed money, but the report isn't official just yet.

Among the teams expressing real interest in #Bills S Jairus Byrd? The #Dolphins. Gearing up for another big year in free agency

Add the Lions, Steelers and Giants to the mix of teams with interest in #Titans CB Alterraun Verner. Mentioned Rams, Vikings & NYJ earlier
Per league sources close to the Baltimore Sun’s Aaron Wilson, Arthur Jones has received interest from the Tennessee Titans, New York Giants, Washington Redskins, Minnesota Vikings, and others.
A source said Wednesday the Vikings are expected to take a strong look in free agency at Miami Dolphins cornerback Nolan Carroll when he becomes a free agent Tuesday.

Chicago
Michael Bennett - DL - Seahawks
According to the Chicago Tribune, DE Michael Bennett has emerged as the Bears' "top target" in free agency.
The Bears are in "strong pursuit" of Martellus' brother, and reportedly hope to replace Julius Peppers with Michael at right defensive end. Two club officials told the Tribune they expect Bennett to sign with Chicago "after free agency opens at 3 p.m. (CT) Tuesday." Bears GM Phil Emery has a strong working relationship with agent Drew Rosenhaus, who reps Bennett. It sounds like it's just a matter of time before Bennett is rushing quarterbacks in the Windy City.

I think it's laughable when teams say they're gonna try to trade a player that everyone knows they plan on cutting. I'm a big CJ2k fan but who the fukk would trade for him knowing they can get him in free agency?

@MoveTheSticks (Daniel Jerimiah): It will be interesting to see if any of these FA WR's get big checks. The draft is so LOADED at the position."

A lot of teams trading for a player gives you the chance to resign him instead of hoping he signs for your team.

No one is trading for CJ at his current cap number of 8 million. In the NBA this thought process works, in the NFL once it's known you want to get rid of a player by any means and plan on cutting him you have no hope of really trading him. Not even Peyton manning was traded.

P.Manning was handled differently the company told him he was free to sign with who he wanted he wasn't for trade. Also he was coming off a injury where most thought he couldn't playa again.
