average NFL games are over 3 hours and have less action than MLB games.

interesting. just read that baseball has 18 minutes of action while the nfl is only 11...it feels like the nfl has more than that. well this low rating quagmire is something else now. maybe they just don't have that "cool" factor or maybe baseball really is dying brehs :skip:

explain how this "local" theory helps the league

Because most leagues make more money off local revenue the national ratings you idiot :dead:

BAseball made 4 million more revenue the nthe nba last year the fact that game 1 of the nba finals did slightly better then them means nothing in the scheme of things

baseball is probably stronger than its been since the 70s.

its not about not being cool, its about the sport being completely local.

exactly. baseball acting like they some prestige harvard or yale that u have to act and dress a certain way..

more importantly the decline of the black athlete is really killing them.. there lack of marketing to urban areas is the reason nobody cares also.

For what it's worth, not too much has changed in baseball in the last 75 years... that "old timers ruining it for everybody" shyt is vastly over exaggerated.

it's not like there is some truly visible difference in how the game is played, and it's players from 1955, to now.

what's really killing them, is that baseball isn't really appealing to the casual fan like basketball and football are, coupled with the fact that football and basketball are the primary ( if not only) of the big 4 sports chosen to play in urban areas.

baseball numbers would be on par with the NFL and NBA, if it attracted the demographic that doesn't really follow sports, but tunes in/attends cause of the social atmosphere it has.

this is a good point. Baseball has lost casual fans and havent adopted to the party atmosphere of other sports.

Brehs dont really tweet about baseball. Rarely see them trending, which is weird.

That's prolly because all "action" ain't exactly created equal....the ball being in play "technically" 7 minutes more than football means approximately next to jack sh!t from an entertainment standpoint given the very nature of the two games...they're counting sh!t like the time it takes a batter to casually trot to first base after being walked as "action"
